Futsal has a long history in Canada. In the new times of AMF-style, Toronto has grown from 20 registered clubs to 80 in 2010, and more than 150 teams with 1,800 to 2,000 players in the Toronto Futsal AMF Association only (playing 100+ matches a week).
Two more associations are being created in the Ontario cities of Mississauga and Scarborough. The National Federation has full charter members, affiliated associations, leagues and academies from Saskatchewan (Saskatoon & Regina), Quebec (Montreal & Quebec City), Alberta (Edmonton & Calgary), and the plans are to expand to British Columbia, and all provinces and territories.
